Am I the only person who thinks using sites like bit.ly and tinyurl to handle links you create is madness….?
One day those sites wont exist anymore, and all the links you created with them will disappear in a puff of electrosmoke…

Is this why you put all those ads there? to get cash by attracting ppl by just posting two lines?
Wow you’re a bitter person aren’t you – advertising makes money yes. How that’s related to the length of an article on a personal blog would only bother the smallest of minds.
Small mind indeed. If people couldn’t get there points across in a few words or less, Twitter would not be such a hit. Good post.
Though I do shorten url’s only on twitter so I have more space to type my thoughts.

Thanks, I don’t have a problem with shortening a URL though, especially for micro-blogging. The problem is relying on a free third party for maintaining your link infrastructure.
It would be best to have your own system of URL shortening, considering how many companies are biting the dust lately.
Brad,
You are 100% right with your response to Adam. Does he not realise that people should be monetising their sites. People have to pay for hosting. It doesnt just suddenly appear to be free.
As for using a shortening service it doesnt bother me massively. If people find it easier to use and it saves them time then thats fair enough.
