I’m an application developer by day with a full time job, currently tied up in a huge automotive lead management application that is being more of a pain in the bum than it needs to be. Actually right now I am on holiday with my wife for Christmas and new year in snowy Macedonia.
What really tickles my tastebuds in 2008 and will continue into 2009 is the psychology of selling on the internet including triggers that make people buy such as killer copywriting skills. I am working my way through another great book this week called Killer Web Content: Make the Sale, Deliver the Service, Build the Brand it’s has a 5/5 rating after 26 reviews that indicates quality reading material.
Today however I found a nice wiki that purely outlines books, the page that got me going is “predictably irrational“, this is just pure condensed fascinating material to get into with stuff such as “The Cost of Zero Cost - Why we often pay too much when we pay nothing” and “Keeping Doors Open - Why Options Distract Us from Our Main Objective“. I will probably go ahead and buy the book too so I can get the most out of it which is again available from Amazon; With a 4/5 rating after 160 reviews it has got to be worthwhile!. The book gives you answers to irrational things that you may unconciously do every day yourself such as;
Even if you don’t buy the book read the outline at the wiki and bookmark it, if you are also involved in selling online then you will find it a valuable reference to fall back on when trying to increase conversions.

Well I am one month in to owning my E71 and felt the need to say it’s almost certainly the best gadget I have ever owned, how so much is crammed into such a thin solid metal case i have no idea. It’s just crazy that something one centimetre thick that fits in your pocket can have GPS, long battery life, a decent camera, every wireless network connectivity you could want in this day in age including Wifi and HSDPA, Bluetooth, IR, Mini USB.. expansion memory slot.. menu’s are fast and watching videos is no problem with the free DivX player. You can fit loads of music and movies on an 8GB micro SD card which you can pick up easily for just over £10.
It looks great, comes with a smart leather case, and if you want to use your own headphones pick up a 2.5 to 3.5mm audio jack from ebay, I got one for 15p including delivery from China. Sign up to Three and get the handset for free, add their Broadband-Max package and get enough download capacity to see you through the month, install Fring and have all your instant messaging on all the time so you can chat with friends while you wait somewhere…
The A-GPS connects in seconds here in London, even without the assistance of a connection and only using satellites it hooks up in seconds, use Nokia maps loader to get maps of all the countries you are likely to go to and you can stick the world on your 8GB card so you can find out where you are anywhere in the world without having to incur data roaming charges.
If you are in the UK and want a new phone, it’s a no brainer, buy an E71 and if you are in the situation I was where I was comparing the N95 8GB and the E71, then go for E71 - you won’t regret it.
Yep, you read that right, the Post Office does Broadband - and offers nice deals too!, the best looking package to me is Post Office Broadband with Homephone because..
- it includes line rental (not like most other providers where you have to pay that on-top)
- has inclusive weekend and evening calls to UK landlines
- comes with inclusive weekend calls to UK mobiles and our top 20 international destinations
- there is no minimum term contract (unlike some who want to keep you for a year)
- you get a FREE Ethernet modem
- Highspeed broadband connection
- FREE set-up and connection
- 24/7 technical support
- 5GB downloads per month (Plenty!)
- 10% discount when you call any of 10 ‘Loved Ones’
- free 60 minute calls to ‘Loved Ones’ on birthdays and Christmas Day
Other Post Office broadband deals are available, Broadband Standard only from £15.95 per month or Broadband extra from £20.95 per month, find out which suits you best click here to see their current offers.
