Well we were due to go to Gran Canaria for a week next Saturday with XL, who went into administration this morning causing all flights etc to be canceled, so 85,000 people are in the very fucked position of being stranded overseas, and even those who were in mid-air at the time of the announcement had their flight redirected to the nearest airport (in one case a flight bound for Glasgow was redirected to Paris).
The ridiculous thing about it from my point of view is that we were charged a fee for ATOL protection in the case of something just like this happening. So Imagine my my surprise to find that if you booked your XL holiday directly with them through their website or call centre you have no protection via ATOL whatsoever, only if you booked you XL flight/holiday through some other agent like Thompsons. What a load of bullshit.
I had a feeling some bad shit was going to happen though thanks to the credit crunch, so had paid for this with my credit card so fortunately I have not been fucked for £900 this morning and can claim it all from my credit card company under the consumer credit act.
I found out today that there is one big brand travel insurance company that covers airline insolvency, administration, bankruptcy that I will be taking out travel insurance with next time (seems like a pretty fundamental thing for a travel insurance policy to have!). And that is the Post Office travel insurance, if I had not have used a credit card to pay for our holiday and insured with the Post Office travel insurance then I would be entitled to claim my money back for the failure of XL.
So now we are looking for a new holiday.

By this time next week, CERN will carry out what could be mankinds final fuckabout with nature, personally I would rather they didn’t do this and all went off camping / all went off to Amsterdam or something else enjoyably natural.
The idea of their experiment is something to do with proving that the universe was started by a big bang, so what better way to test the theory than to spend a fucking ridiculous amount of money creating another big bang!, fuckit, a bunch of nerdy virgins have had enough of not getting any sleep spending night after night wondering about huge things that they can never change, and are going to press the reset button on life for all of us.
Hopefully I am very, very wrong and next week I will still be posting semi-meaningless jibberish to this blog, if not then thanks for destroying everything for all of us you dickweeds, couldn’t you have at least asked us all before taking life for all as we know it into your own hands.
They must have a very high opinion of themselves to be able to assume such responsibility for the destruction of creation…
Update: Seems I am not the only one who thinks this could be a bad idea. I mean they say what they are doing is slightly less powerful than atomic reactions that already occur every day, but the science programme on the BBC I was watching last night made it pretty obvious that they have absolutely no idea what the outcome will be of this EXPERIMENT.
On a slightly more optimistic note perhaps the results of this will be cool, and we will all be powering our lives with something far cleaner than petrol, gas, and nuclear power.

Well it’s that time of year again here in the UK, the roads full of mums taking a child to school in the car, filling up the road with their slow as fuck driving, so going to work in the morning becomes a nightmare for everyone who has been enjoying the breeze of going to work through summer in the car with the shades on.
If only the government funded a dedicated school bus system, EVERYONE would have a better start to their day and general productivity would go up at least slightly.

Seriously what a fucking load of horseshit, you can’t open more than one online account per bank account (my account is shared with my wife) so we can only have one account, I closed my original one after I realised what a load of shit the customer service with Natwest was.
Then I found I couldn’t re-open a lottery account online, can I register with my mums address?, fuck no it says not recognised even though I picked the full address of a list supplied by their website, and offers me to register by post – what the fuck would I want to do that for?.
So I try to open one with our own address and an old bank account that’s still live, it recognises that my address is the same as my wife and forces me to logon as her (the maximum number of login attempts has already been exceeded) and I need to call them to get it turned on again.
Seriously, what a fucking hassle just to buy a fucking spur of the moment lottery ticket online for this weeks £42,000,000 friday jackpot, what a crazy amount of money to win but can I get onto their website?, can I fuck.
Can you?, click here and have a try.
